When you’re trying to run a business, it can be a little difficult. Things can give you headaches and you can even have those little Gremlins in your head can tell you to quit. Drop kick those Gremlins with the giant can of whoop ass you’re going to unleash on them. You can totally do this and using the right tools can make life a 1000x easier.
There are certain tools I love to use especially when I’m on the move as I love to travel a lot. But you can use these tools wherever you are, not just when you’re on the move.
Do you have a business already? Do you use any of these tools? Well lets see!
#1 – Notepad
This is a fantastic little tool to use to write out all the posts and articles you’ll be writing for your website. I love using this tool because you don’t need an internet connection to use it! So this is fantastic for if you’re out at the local coffee shop, or in my case a tiny little hut in the middle of nowhere in a campervan, you can still be writing little pieces of awesomeness for your websites!
If you’re a Mac user, then there is a free app called “iA Writer” that works the same as Notepad, except the paragraphs look better in the program and you can also see your word count and approximate reading time of the piece you’re working on.
So if you’re a Windows user, use Notepad and if you’re a Mac user, use iA Writer. You can write anywhere then!
#2 – Pixlr o Matic
I’ve written a review on Pixlr o Matic about how awesome it is, but I’m going to mention it again because it’s an incredible tool.
It’s an online service where you can add awesome effects on your pictures. I use this a lot when on the move because in a few clicks you have a completely different image. Handy for when you’re purchases images from places like PhotoDune and you want to use it mulitple times. Throw on a few effects and you can create 20 different versions of the image to use on your websites. Pretty sweet.
Plus, you also have Pixlr Editor and Pixlr Express to add more effects and edit your images. Check it out, if you don’t use it then you’ll start to once you’ve played around with it…
#3 – Google Analytics
If you haven’t heard of this, then you’ve been living under a rock my friend. EVERY website should be using this to track the stats of your websites. If you’re trying to run an online business, this is an absolute must.
This tool will track the number of people who’ve visited your website, where they came from, what device they used to visit your site, what page they landed on, what page the left your website from and SO much more!
I love using this to see which pages are doing well and which aren’t. You can see how many people are leaving your website after only looking at the page that they landed on. This is called your “bounce rate.” If you have a high bounce rate, then it means people are exploring your site and checking out all that awesomeness you’ve created. Something that should definitely be sorted.
There are plugins you can use for your WordPress website to make the installation of Google Analytics stupidly simple.
You can also use this video to help you go through the process too.
#4 – Google Drive
Save all your important documents online that you can easily access with your Gmail account. This is a great tool to use if you want to quickly email important documents to specific people. Plus you get a load of other awesome tools to use with your Gmail account.
Tools like Google Docs makes it easy collaborate with other people on your posts. You can set it up to allow people to edit the document to make your posts even better.
You get 5GB free with every Gmail account and I love this as I can save some important documents for my business and not have to worry about losing them for if my laptop gets lost, stolen or broken. I love this, don’t have to worry about losing the important things anymore!
Get your Google Drive account if you haven’t already. Like I said it’s free so abuse it.
#5 – Wealthy Affiliate University
Having the right people around to help me when I’m stuck with an idea or keeping up with all of the constant changes that happen in the internet world, this is an absolute must for me.
Wealthy Affiliate also provides a lot of training so if I want to try something new or want to learn about something in particular for my business, then this is the first place I turn to.
I have written an in depth review on this place and why I love it so much, so don’t forget to check that out. I just cannot believe they have a free membership and don’t hold anything back from you either. I wish I had it when I first joined, but I don’t care… I would have signed up either way. I wouldn’t have met some awesome people and my business wouldn’t be where it is today if I didn’t met them.
Running A Successful Business Requires The Right Tools!
No matter if you’re trying to run a business from your home, or anywhere with a laptop, these tools will make your life a little easier. Plus they’re all free too! They won’t cost you a penny to use.
I love using these, especially the Notepad trick as I am not always able to use the internet so I can still get on with my work, as they really do make life easier.
You have a way to write content for your websites even without an internet connection, a place to edit your pictures and add cool effects, a way to track the stats of your site and the use of your site, a way to share your documents with people around the world or have a digital copy saved in case your computer dies forever and a place to learn all the new changes in the internet world and meet some awesome people to help you out for when you have a “brain fart” moment.
Do you use any of these tools? Is there a particular tool you love to use that I haven’t mentioned here? Let me know if the comments below and don’t forget to share this with your friends!
